International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA) is an international non-governmental organization that unites 3550 yacht schools in 31 countries of the world, which have adopted the ISSA-standard for amateur and professional training of yachtsmen.
ISSA was founded in 1969 in Paris on the initiative of the national sailing associations of England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Poland. ISSA together with RYA are the oldest systems of yachting training in Europe.
Such systems as CYA, ASA, IYT, (and all other systems), appeared much later. Unlike them, ISSA does not set the task of income generation due to its activities and, as it is specified in its Charter, remains a public organization that sets and controls the standards of yachting training in the schools-members of the Association.

ISSA is a public non-profit association of sailing schools all over the world
The mission of ISSA is to spread and popularize an recreational sailing as well as implementation of a harmonized and integrated system of education and training for yachtsmen. The ISSA system is the most democratic. Particularly, it is realized in possibility of teaching not only in English (as in RYA), but also in the language of students.
In our certificates ISSA, unlike in the certificates of other systems, we specify the name of the trainer who trained this student. This means personal responsibility of the teacher and the school for the level of training of the person who received the certificate.

Internationally recognized certificate of skipper ISSA (ISSA skipper certificate) confirms the qualification of its owner as a yachtsman and allows him to sail the yacht in the waters of all over the world in accordance with his specified qualification.
All ISSA licenses could be checked online via international database.
The ISSA yachtsmen training system is certainly trusted by charter and insurance companies. The map below shows the results of periodic analysis of recognition of ISSA certificates by charter companies in major yachting areas of the world.

In November 2011, in a business and constructive atmosphere, the Annual General Meeting of ISSA full members was held in a nice old Polish town of Poznań. The event was timed to the remarkable event of Polish yacht life – the international Poznań Boat-Show.
The Congress took favorable decision in the question of admittance of the GoSailing International Sailing School as a member of the ISSA. The administration and the trainer staff of the school successfully passed certification ISSA and received trainer permissions of different degrees.

In April 2013, the Vice President of ISSA, Tomasz Lipski, visited the GoSailing school in Turkey.
The visit was timed to a planned inspection of the school in the framework of implementation of new methods and schools' accreditation while change-over to the new system of plastic certificates.
The honored guest inspected the yacht sailing school and spent several days together with training groups that were taking the course of the second level of ISSA Coastal (Inshore) Skipper. The inspector took a favorable view of the work of the school and expanded our friendly yacht team by certification of several new trainers.
The parties discussed several burning questions of development, as well as agreed on the concept of the future ISSA festival that would take place in Turkey in October 2013.

1 ISSA LEVEL ::: YACHT CREW
If you dream of taking your first steps in yachting but don't know where to start, we recommend you to join one of our crews for a week. Having proved yourself as an active and competent crew member and received initial skills under the guidance of experienced captains, you will be able to pass yet simple examinations and become the owner of the first stage in yachting, the certificate ISSA Yacht Crew.
It is a certificate of a competent crew member who is starts getting acquainted with sailing. If you plan to take part in sea trips and do not want to participate in them only as a tourist, this certificate is right for you.
After receiving this certificate, you will be able to continue your training to the next level of a coastal skipper (Coastal) Skipper.
Estimated analogues of ISSA Yacht Crew in other systems: International Crew (IYT) and Competent Crew (RYA)
The certificate is given since the age of 10 and older.
1.1 ISSA INLAND SKIPPER
It is an intermediate level allowing the owner of the certificate to sail in inland waters (not far then 2 n.m. from coastline) on a small watercraft (permissions are specified in the table above)
2 ISSA LEVEL ::: INSHORE (COASTAL) SKIPPER
Most likely, you will want to come for two weeks of training and get a certificate of Yacht Inshore Skipper – the first skipper level. This certificate gives to its owner the opportunity to rent a yacht and sail it independently. The certificate gives the possibility to sail on all charter waters of the world practically.
The certificate confirms that its owner has the skills allowing to sail on a yacht up to 24 meters long, during the day-time in the coastal zone (up to 20 miles from the shelter) in waves up to 6 Bf. The detailed permissions for each level are specified in the table above.
Estimated analogues of ISSA Inshore Skipper in other systems: Bareboat Skipper (IYT) and Day Skipper (RYA)
The certificate is given since the age of 16 and older.
3 ISSA LEVEL ::: OFFSHORE YACHT SKIPPER
This level is designed for advanced sailors who plan expeditions to the waters with tides. The certificate confirms the skills sufficient to sail the yacht in light and dark hours at a distance from a sheltered port up to 100 sea miles.
Offshore Yacht Skipper is obliged to be able to plan of a long passage, to show off practical skills of definition and maneuvering in narrow places, as well as to use a life raft and other means and work off MOB at night.
Entrance qualification for the training course of ISSA Offshore Yacht Skipper requires certificates of previous levels, 800 independent sea miles, 25 days on the sea in senior positions of a captain or a chief of watch.
Estimated analogues of ISSA Offshore Yacht Skipper in other systems: Yacht Master Coastal (IYT) and Coastal Skipper (RYA)
Issued since the age of 18 and older.
4 ISSA LEVEL ::: MASTER OF YACHT
